Jamie was my second dog, another pet store purchased, purchased within 6 months of Jada. Looking back on it now, having 2 puppies at the same time being an inexperienced pet owner probably wasn't the smartest decision but, luckily, we didn't have any issues.
I relate Jamie to Winnie the Pooh's Eeyore. She always took her time and did everything on her own time. If you asked her to sit, you could almost picture the rolodex spinning in her mind as she tried to remember what she was being asked. While I think she was a Boxer mix of some sort; she had the typical Boxer play antics... even though she was the most laidback couch dog, out in the yard she would run and chase and almost dare you with the look in her eye to chase her back.
We lost Jamie too young, at the age of 7, to cancer. Petting her one day noticed a lump in her neck one day, which let to seeing a specialist who discovered the lump was in fact thyroid cancer. While deciding how to treat this, a chest x-ray revealed the cancer had metastasized to the lungs. We kept her pain free and enjoyed the remaining days we had with her before choosing a day to let her pass in our arms at the vets.
